In late 2023, restoration work to repair and rejuvenate the Wigston Roll of Honor Memorial positioned near All Saints Church in Wigston.

The Roll of Honour lists the names of our fallen heroes from the First and Second World War, but over time had begun to fall into disrepair.

The project to restore the memorial came to fruition thanks to both OWBC’s Cllr Bill Boulter and the church’s Associate Vicar, Reverend Christopher Johnson. The work was funded by OWBC and through an incredibly kind donation from former Wigston resident Dean Curtis.

Numerous other individuals donated time and effort to research and then support the restoration of the Roll of Honour and these include:

Keith Bodicoat - dedicated research checking the accuracy of all the names on the War Memorial.

Denis Kenyon – Leicester City, County & Rutland At Risk War Memorials Project.

Robin Jenkins – Leicester City, County & Rutland At Risk War Memorials Project. Denis & Robin oversaw the repairs from start to completion. They were very involved with all design details including the name panels.

Chris Clarke – Carpenter & Joiner. Chris carried out repairs to the Memorial at his workshop in Hallaton.

Brian Postlethwaite (Fingertips Media) – Brian supplied the Dibond metal panels of names.

Thank you to all those involved.
