Viewing Planning Information with Public Access

This page details the copyright requirements to be able to view applications details through PublicAccess, including an acceptance statement which will automatically forward you onto the PublicAccess pages.

Viewing planning applications with PublicAccess

PublicAccess is our online internet service which provides details on current planning applications. It allows you to search planning applications by application number, address and by using the interactive map. PublicAccess also enables you to comment on a current planning application, follow the progress of an application, search a weekly list of applications that have been validated or decided and view details of decisions made.

As of the 16th January 2013, all newly received planning (and associated) applications will be published on the PublicAccess pages of the Borough Council’s website.

Information published will include the :-

  • Application forms
  • Drawings
  • Supporting Information and or Statements, and the
  • Decision notice (when application has been determined)

To view the PublicAccess pages you do not need to become a registered user.

However, if you wish to use certain functions of the software (such as automatic notification of new planning applications or to submit comments on current planning application on-line) you will need to register with a PublicAccess account (there is no charge for this).

Searching for a specific application

If you know the specific application you wish to view all you will need is the application reference number. If you have received a notification letter, this can be found in the top right hand corner of the letter. For example, 13/00001/FUL.

What if the information you want is not available on-line

If the information you wish to see is not available on-line, please contact the Planning section at giving details of the information you wish to view (for example the decision notice from application 12/00312/FUL). Where possible, we will aim to publish the information requested within three working days

To enter PublicAccess please read the copyright notice below and accept the following statement, copyright notice and cookie consent.

The online planning history contained on PublicAccess is incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for carrying out a formal 'Land Charge Search'.

No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained from PublicAccess. Similarly the information contained within PublicAccess does not constitute a formal notification of a planning decision, and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the site are undertaken entirely at the viewer's own risk.

Not all properties can be viewed on the map (for example new housing).

It is recommended that if you have any pop-up blocking software you disable it for the PublicAccess site.

If you do not accept the statements below then unfortunately you will not be able to use PublicAccess. However, if you do accept the statement then then you will automatically be transferred to the PublicAccess pages.
