Sheltered housing in the borough is available from a number of providers including the Council. Each scheme is different and each provider sets their own rules and rents.
The Council operates three sheltered schemes
- William Peardon Court, Wigston
- Marriott House, Oadby
- Chartwell House, Oadby
The Council schemes are suitable for residents over the age of 50 years who would benefit from the low-level support of a Housing Support Worker. The accommodation is self-contained and independent with the reassurance of a monitored community alarm - called Lifeline. The schemes are regularly visited by Housing Support Workers. It is important to note that no personal care is provided in these schemes.
The application process for available vacancies for the Council schemes is through the Choice Based Lettings system.
